Laura was born in Montevideo, raised in Basel, Miami, Vienna, and Zug - in the heart of Switzerland. Her multicultural background, as well as her Swedish and Swiss roots have influenced her interest in storytelling, culture, and people. Laura’s visual language is driven by her Scandinavian affinity for light, natural beauty and simplicity. Her photographic work is an authentic reflection of her native introspection and extrospection of identity throughout space and time.
Laura views the camera as a medium that allows for a visual anthropology; the exploration of identity and purpose. She describes the act of photography as a documentation of personal truth and sense-making of the world we find ourselves in as human beings. Her approach to photography draws in ethical and interpersonal responsibilities as she compares the act of photographing similar to a séance setting; as both visible and non-visible connect and become interwoven. Each photograph serves as an extension of herself - a direct reflection of the intimate relationship (contract) between the photographer, the subject, and the viewer.
After successfully completing her bachelor’s degree in photography at Oxford Brookes University with First Class Honours, Laura has taken a leap of faith towards becoming a professional photographer and fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming an artist. In 2024, she enrolled for her (online) part-time masters in Professional Photography at Oxford Brookes University. In 2025, she became the co-host for the international photography podcast The Subconscious Photography Podcast.

Ihr multikultureller Hintergrund sowie ihre schwedischen und schweizerischen Wurzeln haben ihr Interesse am Geschichtenerzählen und an Kultur und Menschen geprägt. Lauras Bildsprache ist geprägt von ihrer skandinavischen Vorliebe für Licht, natürliche Schönheit und Einfachheit. Laura betrachtet die Kamera als ein Medium, welches eine visuelle Anthropologie ermöglicht, die Erforschung von Identität und Sinn. Sie beschreibt das Fotografieren als eine Dokumentation der persönlichen Wahrheit und der Sinnfindung in der Welt, in der wir uns als Menschen befinden. Ihre Herangehensweise an die Fotografie bezieht ethische und zwischenmenschliche Verantwortung mit ein, da sie den Akt des Fotografierens mit einer Séance vergleicht, bei der Sichtbares und Unsichtbares miteinander verbunden und verwoben werden. Jedes Foto ist eine Erweiterung ihrer selbst - eine direkte Reflexion der intimen Beziehung (Vertrag) zwischen der Fotografin, dem Motiv und dem Betrachter.
Nach ihrem Bachelor-Abschluss in Fotografie an der Oxford Brookes University, den sie mit "First Class Honours" absolvierte, wagte Laura den Sprung ins Berufsleben und erfüllte sich ihren Lebenstraum, Künstlerin zu werden. Im Jahr 2024 schrieb sie sich an der Oxford Brookes University für den (Online-) Teilzeit-Master in professioneller Fotografie ein. 2025 wurde sie Co-Moderatorin des internationalen Fotografie-Podcasts ‚The Subconscious Photography Podcast‘.
